Point System

RiseOfTheSon.com’s NATIONAL RANKING POINT SYSTEM.

The most established Asian basketball programs will be ranked based upon certain aspects about the organization besides their performances in leagues and tournaments. Between its history (years of existence) and how many youth teams the organization holds, as well as hosting clinics, and participation of leagues and tournaments, the more programs and organizations have for the youth, the more points its awarded.

=Breaking down the system=

Teams in the Organization:

Asian programs can host more than one team dedicated to the youth (ages 10-19 years old), whether it would be for 10 year olds or 19 year olds. The more teams the organization has, the more points it receives. For the RiseOfTheSon ranking system, organizations are rewarded 2 points per youth team.

Tournament/League Attendance:

Asian programs that make the effort to put their youth teams in either leagues, or invitational tournaments are rewarded for getting their players more exposure in Asian basketball. For the RiseOfTheSon ranking system, organizations will be rewarded a point for each team they put in a league, and 2 points for every team entered into a tournament.

Tournament/League Results:

Organizations that have teams that win 1st place, 1st runner up (2nd place) and 2nd runner up (3rd place) would be rewarded certain points depending on their placing. The level of competition also determines how much a team scores points in the ranking system. If a team wins in a semi-competitive league/tournament, they will be awarded competitive points. For 1st place they will receive 5 points, for 2nd place, they will receive 3 points and 3rd place would receive 2 points in a semi-competitive league. For highly competitive leagues/tournaments, teams would be awarded elite points. First place would receive 7 points, 2nd place would receive 4 point and 3rd place would receive 3 points. Leagues and tournaments will be determined by the teams participating.

Clinics:

Clinics hold an important part in their role of developing the youth. Organizations that host clinics will be awarded for their efforts to build future basketball stars. For the RiseOfTheSon ranking system, organizations will be awarded 3 points for their clinics.

Graduation Rates:

Asian programs that develop athletes that take their talents to the collegiate levels will be awarded. For the RiseOfTheSon ranking system, every athlete that graduates into a college athlete will be awarded a point per athlete.

Tie Breaker/Head-to-Head points:

Organizations that end up tying with another organization(s) will be separated by results of games. If the organizations had teams that played vs. each other, their placing will be determined by the result of those/that game. For the RiseOfTheSon ranking system, the winning team will award their organization a point for their success.
